Hello. I’ve been developing this game project for 8 months using C++ in Visual Studio. I started working on it inspired by games like Baldur’s Gate, Diablo, Arcanum, and Divine Divinity. I’d really appreciate it if you could share your thoughts.

This is a very ambitious project and I can tell you've put a ton of work into it. I would say you nailed the aesthetic you're going for. I ended up watching a couple of you're other videos just to get a better sense of the game. One small critique I have is it's hard for me to figure out what's happening in the game. You're still developing it so it's to be expected I think, but as you continue developing I'd start thinking about adding more feedback when you can.

For example, some sort of particle effect for attacks would be a nice visual. A small spurt of blood on a hit and maybe a spark when the attack fails to land. Also a sound effect for each would go a long way. A death sound effect is nice as well. It took me a while to realize the guards were attacking and killing spiders. Opening up inventory should maybe have a sound and item drops should announce themselves. It's crazy how much feedback players get in games that they never notice, but they'll definitely noticed it when they're not there.

Overall these are small issues. If I'm honest with my current skill set I couldn't have created what you have. Keep up the awesome work.

Your feedback is truly valuable to me. I’m continuing to develop this prototype with the help of insights and suggestions from people like you who take the time to share their thoughts. I plan to gradually implement all the points you mentioned. Yes, I’m aware that it’s currently hard to understand what’s going on in the game. As development progresses and it reaches a more polished state, I’ll make sure to share more. Stay tuned
