I'm looking to put together a small group for people interested in the overlap between esoteric traditions, occult philosophy, consciousness, mythology, comparative religion, speculative ideas, and games.
The basic idea: get together and actually do something gaming designing adjacent with these interests:
• Tabletop RPGs with occult, mythological, philosophical, or paranormal themes
• Board/card games involving strategy, symbolism, divination, mythology, or hidden information
• Video games with interesting philosophical, esoteric, post-apocalyptic, or metaphysical themes
• Occasional tarot/oracle/geomancy or other divination experiments, approached as exploration rather than dogma
• Short presentations or discussions about subjects like Gnosticism, Sufism, mythology, consciousness, folklore, comparative religion, UFO/paranormal traditions, occult history, etc.
• Educational game nights where we learn something while playing
• Possibly collaborative writing, worldbuilding, or designing our own games around these themes
I'm especially interested in people who enjoy weird ideas without requiring everyone to believe the same thing. Skeptics, occultists, academics, gamers, writers, mystics, philosophers, and curious weirdos are all welcome.
The essential goal is to bridge the gap between esoteric paranormal and create a game that can be both entertainment and educational. Any ideas?
