[Unpaid / Co-Creation Opportunity]

We are a small, passionate core team preparing an investor-ready vertical slice for a stylized low poly 3D Game built in Godot

We’re looking for a 3D Technical Animator/Generalist and a Gameplay Programmer to complete our core team for a 3 to 4 month sprint. You will work directly with our art director and lead programmer to craft a 3D Boss Fight encounter.

3D Technical Animator / Generalist:

What You’ll Be Doing:

Rigging & Weight Painting the boss model (and player meshes) in Blender

3D Character Animation Animating snappy, dynamic combat loops: attack telegraphs, phase shifts, hit reactions, and dynamic idles.

Engine Setup: Setting up Animationtree nodes and state machines in Godot Engine.

Generalist Arena Polish (Bonus): Helping polish the boss encounter's overall visual punch from adding combat/particle VFX to tweaking materials or assets, alongside the team.

Bonus Skills (Generalist Plus):

•3D Character Art •3D modeling •UI/UX •Creating basic stylized 3D/particle VFX •Texturing/UV • 2D art

Gameplay Programmer

to complete our core team for a 3 to 4 month sprint. You will work directly with our art director and lead programmer to create fluid gameplay for a tower defense game that includes a unique boss battle mechanic.

Experience:

Experience with Godot and GDScript is preferred. Experience with other languages (particularly C# and Python) and engines are acceptable depending on the portfolio. For the duration of the vertical slice, only GDScript will be used. Prior experience working in small teams to design games is a bonus. Please send a GitHub, BitBucket, or other link to code you have publicly available along with your portfolio to contact@cotmstudios.com

Project Context & Transparency:

Compensation: Unpaid / Portfolio project. Designed as an investor pitch vertical slice. If funding is secured, core members have the opportunity to transition into paid roles.

Scope: High-impact, strictly scoped 3-month milestone setup so it respects your personal schedule/job.

Team: Small, collaborative team where your creative voice directly shapes visuals and combat gameplay.

Engine Experience: Experience with game engines (Godot, Unreal, or Unity) is a plus, but not required. We prioritize strong rigging/animation fundamentals and a willingness to learn Godot's pipeline over existing engine familiarity.
