Hey, I''m having this very strange problem with bitmapped fonts. I''m using the NeHe code right now, although i had the same problem with the code from OpenGL Game Programming. Ok, so i get the font all created and then i print to the screen. The odd thing is that text just scrolls across the screen and disappears. I''m not doing anything to affect the coords of the text either. The REALLY odd thing is that when I increase the size of the font, or I increase the number of chars in the string, the speed that it scrolls and disappears is faster. This is really freaking me out so if you have experienced this before or have any idea of what might be going on I would be greatly appreciative. Thanx alot /* ====================== Pop me an email Here "In Windows, the only thing opposing safe mode would be... Unsafe mode....??" - Me "hmm, I know the slogans "will work for food" and "will work for free", but "will pay for work I do" seems just a bit sick " - MirekCz ====================== */
"With my feet upon the ground I lose myself between the sounds and open wide to suck it in, I feel it move across my skin. I'm reaching up and reaching out. I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me, what ever will bewilder me. And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been. We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been." - Maynard James Keenan <

You perhaps have a glScalef() call in the "print font" function. A call to glPushMatrix() before it and a glPopMatrix() after it may help...
