Howdy, just made a terrain engine with a enormously large terrain in it, take a look. Unzip the files into any directory and run the exe (arrows to move around, plus 'x' and 'y' for tilting and spinning and F2 for window/fullscreen toggeling) Screenshot! [edit] I forgot to mention, use shift to invert the 'x' and 'y' keys function, and you probably have to enter windowed mode to take screenshots if you wanna do that (with the print screen key) Edited by - Jesper T on December 27, 2001 7:48:15 PM

After using it for about 20 seconds, my computer freezes. But I don''t think it is your program, because that happened with games from the GDNet showcase, too. I just got new hardware and something is wrong.

Thats very strange, if anyone encounters a problem with it be sure to tell me.

The framework should be very stable though so it probably your computer as you say.

If you havent already, try dling the latest drivers for your graphics card etc..

No, I''m not a beautiful girl and I''m offended. I demand that you remove that picture and anything related to it and also all the hair on your back in 48 hours. Otherwise I will take legal action against you, and I''m warning you, this is not a joke, you WILL be sorry

Not bad. Ran fine once I used the right resolution. My monitor won''t support 1600x1200...

Ah ok, I wanted to make a single menu where you could choose the right resolution and depth, but my windows programming skillz r not so 1337, I only know how to do popups so it kinda sucks at that.

The screenres shouldnt have much to say for the preformance though (as long as your system supports it) cuz the main stress is on the CPU and its the same for every res.

Ive though of another way to make a landscape engine, much faster but not infinetly large like this one, so keep yer eyes up hehehe I''m just wondering how much RAM its worth using to make the landscape consistent once its created.. I only need a few control points for fairly large areas so it can be pretty damn large..hmm..
