Original Post
Hi all,
I''ve been posting under the name donmc lately (for about the past month). I knew i had an old account, but i couldn''t remember my username/pass. I wasn''t smart enough to write them down.
Well anyways, today i finally managed to guess the correct user/pass. Why is this important to gamedev.net? It''s not really.
Hey, while i''m rambling i''d like to once again express my pleasure with gamedev and its members. It''s a wonderful community. Too many forums on the net are nothing but flame wars. Some ignorant AP cutting down someone else, and sadly most of the good information getting lost in the middle. Gamedev.net is a delightful exception to the rule.
As for me, i was just starting to get into game programming back in late ''99 and stumbled on gamedev.net. After a very long hiatus i''m back! Writing windows programs all day kinda takes the fun out of programming.
Anyways, i''ve been working pretty steady the last month on writing my first full-fledged game. It''s very close to completion, and i''m looking forward to sharing it with everyone via the showcase.
Lastly, i''m still quite impressed with the quality of the posts in the forums. I was worried when i came back that this site too might have degraded into another flame board. Fortunately it has not. Nearly all of my posts in the past month have been well recieved. Very refreshing.
Thanks again to all the community members as well as the GDnet staff for making such a great site!
