It''s ok, expected more from DMA.
IMHO gta 2 is more fun,the game was originally designed from an isometric perspective.
What they tried to do was take the overall elements of the game
and fit it into a £D framework.
The problem with this is that missions become more technically demanding, taking longer just for simple things, and that the whole isometric beauty of the game is lost....In gta-2,you could see the tops of buildings as you drive by,this give much more of a sense of exploration to the game, you might see something and get distracted on a little side mission.3 totally lacks this,
the game became too obsessed with driving,as it''s what it does well, but really for a company that mocks games like driver e.t.c that''s quite sad, because they don''t offer that much more.
Don''t get me wrong,GTA3 is an amazing game.
DMA are too good to produce crap,Dan Houser is really class and they have a good typically british way of looking at games.
The problem is that like black and white,it''s too complex and rushed.
I guarentee you the game was pushed by Cockstar for a Christmas release.
The biggest problem is really once you finish the game, the whole city really dies.
I clocked the game (no cheats) in 1 week, and before 2 had done
every side quest possible (not hidden package, there''s no fun looking for them, just chance mostly),even got myself a bulletproof cheetah
.
Now the only thing left for me is the occasional massacre, and trying to pull off elusive triple+ insane stunts.
(I''m not sure how technically feasible this is,I''m a designer not a talented programmer.)
One of the things that would have made it a lot cooler, would be the ability to save a replay of unique stunts.
I guess they would have done it if it was easy, but little things like that let it down.
Mostly it''s the missions, the game needed more,I can even see how they tried to make the missons less technically complex (marty e.t.c)
probably too save dev time, but they really shot themselves in the foot.
I don''t see why they had to make it so story based, when really everything but the humour was lame.
I also know you can put yourself in an isometric view, but it sucks and isn''t birdeye enough, and anyway what I''m really talking about was the way in the isometric versions you could see
something but not know how to get it.
You''d have to look around find your way onto roof tops, jump gaps,
search around....I gave more gameplay.
I also liked things like the fact that you had so many equal missions from very different bosses, there was so much more too do.
I don''t want too take anything away from what they''ve achieved with this all,but I just think they lost the plot a little.
Respect though too DMA,they''re still one of the only companies I''d work for.

I''ve been absolutely addicted to that game since I got it. IMO, it''s better than GTA2. Driving is easier now, and using weapons in first person is a blast (ie, sniping the CIA agents to get Ray to the airport). Although in GTA2 I liked being able to play the gangs (massacre one gang for respect from another). I don''t think that blowing up a dozen Mafia Sentinels would''ve made Salvatore Leone happy to see me, but...
My favorite thing to do is grab a hooker, nail her, then take my Louisville Slugger to her slut ass cuz she was a lousy lay and take my money back.

I know like I said they are class,
but what I''m getting at is the overall gameplay is lacking but they pulled it together nicely.
I just expected a bit more,I''ve been waiting for that game for a long time.
Hopefully they''ll use the basic engine again, and spend more time on gameplay.
GTA4 me thinks,GTA4 london who knows,.
I hope anyway,Dan,guys if you''re reading this you know where too find me. lol
Get the vocals and the cutscenes done quicker ok. Hehe I''m sure the story stuff was the problem.
I think a lot of mission stuff in gta was done with scripts
They should have more money for that stuff now anyway.
"Bigger and badder,Pogo the monkey rides again!,with improved springs!." lol
but no seriously the game deserves it,screw the money even.
It''s one of those few times that if they do it right, people won''t care.
I''m sure they''ve got plans anyway,
they''re one of the few dev teams I have some faith in.

He says he''ll see what he can do.

Hehe actually;uhmm not Christmas.
