Ive been going through the book " Tricks of the windows Game Programming Gurus, By Andre Lamothe " Its a very good book, however when I got to chapter 7, and tested demo 13 the bitmaps are all fuzzy and weird, I dont understand why, Can anyone help me?

There is a mistake in the way he loads the bitmaps which causes the problem. He over complicates things with the way he loads his bitmaps. To make it easier on yourself, just don''t worry about those particular Demos and continue on with the book because the rest of the demos work, so its not really a problem. Then when you finish the book and have a better understanding of what is going on, you can go back and see if you can find the problem, or start using Directx 7, which comes with DDUTil which has functions for loading bitmaps directly to a surface. If you want the answer right now, I know it exists in this forum, because I saw someone post the correction. Just search for it, or may they can repost it here.

DirectX 6.1 comes with DdUtil.cpp as well. I can''t remember exactly where it is, do a search in the DirectX SDK directory for ''Ddutil.cpp'' and ''Ddutil.h''.

I think DirectX 5 might come with it too but I can''t remember.
