No 56K connection ?

I''m presently on a 56K but connecting at 45,333 most of the time. I made many modem adjustments to speed up the connection. Worked pretty good. I got Chek-It Net Optimizer which managed to speed things up another 20 %. It was worth the buy.

I think I have line noise, so I''m going to run CAT 5 cable in the future to see if I can filter some of that out. I wouldn''t mind a good Web Page caching program to stop the constant hard drive access. I tried putting those files on a Ramdrive but IE wouldn''t let me do that. Kept on giving me an error. Too bad, that would have worked really well.

Well, I have a 56k modem, but the phone lines in this accursed town suck, so I get speeds as if I had a 28.8k modem.

Yeah, I am on dial up as well. I used to connect at 33.6k but I switched ISPs and now I get about 45k.
