Hey don''t knock anyone willing to pay you for contract work. Yes there are lot''s of small shops out there who will pay programmers on a contract basis.

I have had other contracts that I found on messages from this site for one man businesses and I have been paid in full and promptly.

The reason many of these one man companies use contractors instead of hiring full time programmers is because it is not economical to hire full time staff to complete a project.

If you are interested in this post, give Seth a shout and find out the details. Worst case is it''s not for you, best case you could make some decent cash. You never know until you email him and find out.

And as far as the hotmail goes, just about everyone I do business with uses a hotmail address to avoid constant spam and virus attacks. It''s much easier to filter a hotmail account then worry about a bunch of crap coming through your main business email.

Seth Maybe if you post a little more information about some of the technologies you are looking for and a brief description of the roles you are looking for you might have more luck on these boards. I''d normally give you a shout myself but I am overloaded with other contracts for the next few months.

Good luck,

borngamer

As requested:

The Company name: Seth Productions LTD.
Founded in : Ireland, Europe, 1st September 2001
Founders : Ronan Hayes, Seth Myres, Bill Keane, Kieran Hallahan.
Employees : 34

Software: 3DMax R4
8 G-Max Developers Licences
Photoshop 6.0
Visual Studio with MSDN Libraries

The current contract issued to the 11 contract workers working within the company were as follows:

1. A Copy of the Required Software {Licence Terms apply}
2. $1000 good faith payment {on signing a contract with the company, this is before any work is done}
3. full payment upon completion of the project/contract.

With regards to contracts that may suite. If you have the Software and we confirm that it is Legal {not pirate, or student licence} we will refund you what you paid for it. We are trying to get the best start possible so contract workers would be the simplest correct solution.

As for the hotmail accounts, well the main reasons being its both free and we can avoid spam. I was told to post on this forum by the MD {Bill Keane}.I was told to post in all relevant sections of this forum, so that is the reason for posting in all the sections that we would be requiring assistance in. Sorry for spamming, but I saw it as covering everyone that may be interested.

Its called Seth Productions, merely because I suggested it and being an Artist had all the logo's and so on created. So Seth Productions was created. But for now that is the Pseudo name for the company, we are still in the process of Setting up the exact details of the company. But the last Problem is with the name, and ensuring that it is not in use by other companies.

As for what is needed, the main area is in creating a graphics engine, one that can compete on the competitive market. Especially seeing as how FPS {which our project will more than likely be classed as} tend to fall under the "EYE CANDY" Category. Which would mean the engine must be capable of Holding its own within this Category.

We have "X-Box Dev kits" and are aiming for the PC and X-Box market. So the API used to create the game will be DirectX. Other than that Im unsure of certain details with regards to the engines aspirations and specifics.

If there is any more details required please e-mail me or request it and I will post it or if I have stated something that is unclear please inform me and I will try to rectify any problems.

Ok, that''s better. I wasn''t knocking it (per se) but it sounded too professional to be serious... (which isn''t your fault, just the other crappy posts we get here asking for work.) Sorry about ribbing you there.

Well this is the real thing. We are looking for people {and please pardon the expression} "Who Know Their Shit" with regards to engine creation and design.

But we also will take on people who are willing to learn, and see how things are done.

For those who do e-mail me please bear with me as it will take me some time to e-mail all of you back.

Sincerely

Seth Myres

I''m moving this to the Help Wanted forum, and I''m closing the other two threads. Despite your stated reasons of wanting to reach as many people as possible, our forums are not here to provide you with free advertising, other than in the forums specifically designated for that purpose (i.e. the Help Wanted and/or Your Announcements forums). The forums you have posted this to are designated for the discussion of specific technical issues related to game development.

We are based in Ireland. Dublin to be exact. And as of yet have not been registered on the Irish registrar, but that is to be updated in March and we are assured our place.

If we get into the English Registrar, Im not really to certain, I was informed that the complications we were having with our name was due to, the need to register it globally. But Im not aware of the specific details. I keep pretty much to the recruiting and some light concept work.
