For my Uni assignment this year I am creating a computer game. This game is a blatant rip off of Worms and I''ll admit that to save legal action I really need some people to test the game as it stands at the moment. It''s 2 players only but I''m sure it won''t be new for most of you to play with yourself You can download it here: http://64.119.160.230/RWGame.exe It''s 1.2Meg and you need the following at least; - Windows 98 - Direct X 8.0 (possibly 8.1??) - Monitor that supports 800x600 - 64Mb Ram Some PCs will not load the game at all so if that happens I''d appreciate it if you could email me some debug information to help fix the problems. Details are in the readme file Cheers :D

Don''t get too excited. It''s far from brilliant but thats why I''m asking for feedback on what I can do to improve it (or fix it )

It works fine, i couldn´t do it as well as you, cause I´m just beginning with game programming and only have little experimence with C++ and now I try learning OpenGL but it goes on.....
I think the power of the weapon is a little bit too slow to regulate.....

bye

Nice looking game so far...took me a while to actually line up a shot though (my fault though, not the games ) I had one bug when I tried to exit the game. Basically it performed an illegal operation or something, this was after I won the game with player one. However I haven''t been able to reproduce it again since.
Other than that the only changes that I can think of is the ring animation at the top as it tends to skip between loops. And possibly make the missiles do more damage to the terrain.

I keep meaning to remove that thing. It serves no purpose to the game what so ever. it was just testing animation that I might use in the players. Cheers for the info though

Everyone who has it working so far... are you using DX 8 or 8.1?

lol thanks. Yes I know it was only for people not QUITE so clever so they didn''t start distributing that background image. It shouldn''t be made available until the 21st as it''s album artwork lol

Ooh, it''s Real World, who I know from the Sea of Madness forum. Fun. 64mb for a Worms clone? What is the world coming to?!!

Well I''ll be buggered. Who are you then, don''t recognise the name.
And yeah 64meg is possibly a bit excessive but I can''t test it on many PC''s. I''ll be buggered if I can work out why it''s going wrong though!

64mb for a worms clone? god, if you think that just several years ago diablo 1 was happy with 8mb and extremely happy with 16mb... where are we heading?!? All this 3d in 2d is crappy, with just a little more bandwitch (which happens to be there on 133mhz sdr and ddr systems) you can make extremely nice low mode 640x480 software rasterizers which don''t need half the mem space a 3d-2d clone needs and they are happy with a 4mb video card, too.
