I''ve read docs in the MSDN saying that it is rude practice to go moving window z-order around programmatically on a user, because it messes with the user''s ideas of which programs are on top, and which are on the bottom. It pretty much said you really shouldn''t do this, and with good reason, especially since it''s such an easy thing to do (SetWindowPos()).
Well, why the phook does Internet Explorer 5.0 through 6.0 (and I''m sure others before it) happen to do just this?
Were you ever 2 or 3 start menu levels deep just to see the entire menu disappear because IE decided to pop up on top? Were you ever in the middle of typing something to suddenly see yourself staring at some other web page, and that when you hit enter, thinking you were starting a new line in another application, only to be hitting enter after some link to gamedev.net recieved focus?
Well, that most last part hasn''t happened to me, at least I''ve not randomly been carried to the land of goatse because of IE, but it could happen.
Does this happen to anyone else, or is this just me?
Does anyone know how to stop the little bugger from doing it, as it''s really starting to piss me off.
Thank you for your bandwidth,
