It depends on what you''re trying to learn. If you are already knowledgeable about C/C++ and you just want to learn about OO programming, a book like C++ Primer might not be too good. Its going to leave you wanting more. I''d recommend "Core C++: A Software Engineers Approach " to advance into the language and learn OO as well as many, many other features not really talked about in the "beginning" or "primer" level books.
If, however, you''re just starting out, I''d go to your local library and check out a book or two on C/C++.. get a feel for the writing style that you learn best from (believe me, it makes a great difference) and try to find books by that author.
Keep in mind, any book is better than none though. There''s my advice.. hope it helps at all.
