I was just wondering what modelers you use and what modelers game developers mostly use(im guessing 3DS MAX) or do they make their own? im kinda interested in modelers and was just wondering how do you get the models in the game? do you use the file format for whatever file your modeler saves to? im asking cause i know milkshape 3D has many formats like the quake one ect. and ive seen tutorials on loading MD3 models and milkshape models and i was just basicly wondering exactly how the modeling thing all works i know it may be a stupid question but i figure its better to be a fool for 5 min than a fool forever thx for any help

My team has been using 3dsmax to do the modeling though we may switch to Mirai (don''t ask me why i''m not a modeler ) But what I have seen to be the most common are 3dsmax, mirai, and maya. As for formats, most groups create their own model format that is most suited for their game engine. They simply write plugins in which they can save directly in that format from the renderer or they will write converters that will convert files from one format to the other. I''m not to sure I understand what you mean when you say you want to know how it all works. Bassically the modeler stores all the data such as vertices, skeleton system (if there is) and other items and then saves the information in whatever format it needs to.

I hope that helps!
