Feel Free to welcome the New Guy With a torrent of flames: So here''s the poop. I''ve got this script, and story idea. I''m mapping out all the levels and characters. I''m getting to the point where I want to start talking to people about actually making the game. In my mind it plays out as a 2D side scroller with a 3D engine. Sort of like a 3D version of Double Dragon. The Question is. Would it be better to talk to somebody about writing an engine specifically for the game, or would it be (possible) easier to just do a mod of an existing 3D engine like quake? make with the enlightening.

that sounds like a neat idea... and this is not a flame... but it is going to be hard to find people who are willing to program your idea for you, no matter how great it is.
there, that wasn''t rude was it?
i''m really trying
P.S. - i''d love to help you myself, since it is a good idea... but i''m busy doing my own stuff

ditto about the busy doing other stuff here...
i''d recommend either putting together a REALLY
good storyboard, or finding some really good
friends.
the problem with a script, is that there are
a million of great ones out there.. and most
everybody is already working on their own idea..
but if you presented the concept in a very visual
way, it might be enough to convince some people
to start working on it

-good luck!

Maybe the Max Payne engine. It seems like it could be finagled to do what I''m looking for.

Agreed though, it''s times like these I wish I had a best friend who was a programming yoda.
