I am working on a game enigne and I would like to know if anyone could give me any idea where to find out about using scripts in the game i.e. putting data in a text file and then using a class to read it calling commands as required according to the word read in.

www.flipcode.com has some great tutorials on scripting using Lexx and Bison. You should check them out.

Read about the fstream classes in MSDN - very intense. Basically, you create a file object and specify if it is input or output. Then you use the << or >> operators to read into a variable or write a variable. Much easier than those FILE structs!
