I am just getting started in Game programming and am battling to run openGl apps. I have the OpenGl Programming Quide ( the red book) and am compiling the examples with visual c++. They compile with no errors but I cant see any results. Does Glut have to be installed , openGl installed? I have a decent computer with a good graphics card so whats up?

no I don''t get any error messages.
It basically works like this: I push ctrl-f7, it compiles, i then push f5 to see results and nothing happens at all.
The examples can''t be wrong as this is apparently the best openGL book.
I''ve downloaded that glut dll but must I place it in my projects folder for every project or can I install it?

if u put the glut dlls in your /windows/system(32) (cant remember which, either should work) then you''ll have a system wide glut install
