Hi all, I just wanted to ask a quick question, has anyone ever come across a macro engine specifically for games? All the ones I have come across are program and automation based, what I need is basically a keyboard driver that runs in the background that will allow me through ctrl+? hotkey to do say for example complex moves with fighting games, none seem to do the down+forward type keystrokes, if you understand me. So I was wondering if anyone has made or come across something of that nature, I have tried roughly 10 different macro programs and none seem to be what I''m looking for. I''m not asking anyone to program this for me (unless they want to lol) I would just like to know if there is one out there at all thanks for your time

Why do you ask dumb questions like that? If you read his post (you can read, can''t you), you would figure that he meant a system for translating input sequences (aka macros) into internal identifiers that would trigger specific actions.

If you have nothing constructive to say, STFU.

IIRC, the Microsoft I-forget-what-it''s-called-but-it''s-a-really-huge-gamepad has drivers with this sort of functionality.

On a more useful note, I ran some google searches. Here''s one that looks like it has many potentially useful results.

Finally, if you can''t find anything and want to code your own, I think you''ll have to use SendMessage to send keyboard messages to the active window. I am far from an expert in matters involving the Windows API, so seek a second opinion. Also, I''m not sure if that technique would work with games that use something like DirectInput rather than getting keystrokes via the standard message pump.

I hope I''ve pointed you to at least something useful to help you cheat at Mortal Kombat...

Actually it''s for street fighter on netplay lol, some moves are way too hard to do on a keyboard, and with some of the pc pads on the market.......I just thought I''d get a little help from you guys........anyways I''m not a programmer, I am a web designer, but do you think it would be a viable project? I mean just for games, there are more than enough for program routines etc, I''m after the ones that will enable me to do the complex combos etc. An example of the problem I face, on street fighter there is a super move that has to be done in mid air, you don''t even stay airborne for 2 secs, and you are expected to pull of a double fireball movement and punch, not to mention the standing movement which requires a double half circle back and punch, you try it on a keyboard, it''s extremely hard! lol.

It would be fantastic if someone could code it for me, but these days you don''t get anything for nothing unfortunately :o(

Cheers
