I am trying to read in DEM files and display the data Is there a tutorial or info on the file format... how the values are orginized.... The best would be a way to convert it to a .raw file any help would be appreciated

most (all?) dem files are just raw files?
see the *.hdr or fmt file that comes with the dem data
