anyone know if Sony''s Infantry game is 3D or totally 2D isometric? The format would be fantastic for an RPG!! -Soulice

Infantry is isometric...they just make it look 3D. I''ve been playing for two years

great, then there''s hope.

Anyway, how do they do the characters, looks like 360 images becasue you can rotate 1 degree at a time. Has to be lot of images!??

Yes, it is a whole lot of images! But my friend and I were wondering the same question about it being 3D or 2D and we have read and can see that it IS actually (somehow) 2D...

From screenshots it looks like they have 2D landscape and 3D objects on it(like tanks).

See I was thinking the same thing. Looks like 2d iso background, but with 3d models. The characters turn(soldiers) so smoothly and with ''3 dimension'' like my spacecraft in my java 3d app.

arrrgh!
