Learning assembly

I learned programming at our school in the so-called MIPS standard. That''s because we don''t have Pentium-processors in the computers. That is just a matter of taste (and quality). But in my house stands a Pentium-based-computer, so I really want to learn it for that computer too. I started to read the disassembly-code that was produced by MSVC++6.0 and I really think that it is not to hard. But I want to have a reference that sums all the statements up (mov, sub, add, etc.) and also the name of the registers (eax, ...) so I could learn it myself. I looked at the Intel-website, but I didn''t found what I was looking for. So, please, does anyone knows were I can find the thing I am looking for, I think that buying a book is a bit overdone, I am only a poor student! Thanks in advance...

Someone asks this question every other week. I suggest you search before asking in future.

However, I recommend visiting this site and downloading the 4MB PDF "Art of Assembly" (which I notice is now also availiable for Linux as well as Win32). It''s not exactly what you''re looking for, but I think you''ll find it useful. Also look on the links page of movsd.com.

I''am sorry, but didn''t thought that that assembly was such an issue here. I will search for my questions next time and I hope you can forgive me my mistake (I also hate when I come across questions that have been asked - and answered - for about 20 times). I still want to thank you for giving me a reply.

sorry, sorry, sorry!
