So, I took it upon myself to start ''really'' learning vertex shaders and going through the skinned mesh example. So, here are some observations/questions I have so far... -Software mode runs at over 200 FPS while the VS mode runs at about 80. -Code wise, software mode of DrawMeshContainer is much more simple not dealing with a vertex shader. Here is my question so far for those with better cards than mine -Do you see higher frame rates with VS(D3DINDEXEDVS) mode than Software? The Software mode code seems to reflect ''old school'' bone programming we all did back in 1994. There must be a reason to go back to assembly style.

I forgot to add, I would think doing a combination of animations as one time would be easier doing it the Software way. For example, having the talking animation be different than the walking, but being able to combine the two.
