I've just started a new dev team about 15 seconds prior to this post I haven't decided on a name or anything yet but it will be internet based. I am a concept artist, semi-newbie 3d modeler, and i have a few ideas for a first project (probably a FPS) I'm looking for: programmers 3d modelers/animators level designer(s) texture artist(s) (and just about everything else) you will be paid by residuales tho, i'm very limited on money. You can''t really lead that kind of project if you dont code, trust me on this, you should get to learn C++ before attempting such a thing.

Looking for a serious game project?

It''s always more interesting to see some material from someone who''s trying to start a new game, some models, some program he coded, some arts, music, whatever...

And your more likely to find people to join you if you have example of your previous work.

Nothing to do, try complimenting someone, it will make you feel better!

Then maybe post details about what you have in mind, your plans and anything else that may sound interesting about that project.

If learning code is frustrating to you :: you are going to go insane the first day of development

Although programming is an important part of game development, I don''t think that it is necessary to know how to code to put together a team. Good luck Dazyna!

Hey, im sorry but, you really can''t just "Get a Team" for nothing, people need some return, or some assurance of what wil lcome of this. You can''t really understand the project if you can''t code, and a leader cannot not-understand the project .

Maybe you should start-off joining someone else''s team, I mean I am a semi-professional coder and I can''t even get a good team together! (So I am doing just what I suggested: Trying to start-off on someone else''s with some hobby-projects of my own ).

Start small- that''s a great tip I read in one of the articles here. Don''t go and try to do some ambitious, entire FPS game. iD did not begin with Quake or DooM or even Wolf 3D. They started with Commander Keen. A silly, yet fun platforming game.

And that was their first professional release. Imagine the stuff they must have done before then.

Not necessarily. Communication is what is essential. The project leader and the lead programmer (as well as lead artists, lead designer, etc) need to constantly be on the same page and clearly communicate to each other where development stands, what challenges they are faced with and so forth.

Good luck Dazyna. And read the forum FAQ for tips on finding people.

I write original game music. If you are interested in a music composer for your game(s), let me know. I can offer samples in several formats. I come cheap since I''m new to it BUT I write quality tunes and ambience with a passion and understanding of video & PC games.

Well, I would be interested in giving you a couple of songs to write but that would be later in the development phase. I will keep your email address handy.
