Alright, first off this is my first game, and I am teaching myself DirectX as I go along. I am making a 3 card poker game. I have all of the classes and the main cpp file written already for the game (like the card class and deck, and the different functions for those classes), and now I want to create the graphics. What I can do so far is initialize DirectX and blit a bmp I created to the screen. Now I have a few questions as to what to do next. Please forgive me for my beginner questions. What I want to do now is to show the cards that are dealt on the screen. I know this should be done with page flipping, but I am having trouble finding tutorials that describe, very well, the process. Do I need to send the graphic of the card to the backbuffer and the blit it to the screen? And if so, how exactly? And how should I create the card graphics? (I mean should I make one bmp file for each one, or put them all on one file, and if I put them all on one, how does the program recognize between them?) thanks for the help.
