I''m having a bit of trouble figuring how to do the graphics for this game I''m making for my comp sci class. The main things I''m looking for is how to get trasparencies in my pictures, and how to use a full screen mode. The ability to rotate my pics would be good too. So could any one tell me how to do these things, or point me somewhere that will tell me? I''ve already tried the Game Frame for java thing, when I compile programes using it I get an error in the game frame files.

Are those supported under java 1.3? I think java 2d is, but I''m not sure about full screen exculsive.

Why give up on GameFrame so easily? There is some awesome stuff there!

What was the error?

If you are using gifs, Java automatically picks up the transparency colour if it is set. Java2D can do image rotation. I don''t know how to do fullscreen.

However, not all platforms support full screen mode. That''s a real shame because Linux is one of them.

Really? I tried doing the same thing, for transparencies... but for some reason, I couldn''t get the background to go transparent. Do you have to use 1.4?

Ok, what I was sort of looking for now is either something that''s similar to BitBlt(I''ve used it before and I only have a finite time to be able to finish this in), or a freeware program that will let me save .gif''s with transparent pixels in them. I''d perfer the former, ''cause I think it would impress the teacher a little more, and thats always good.
