Original Post
I'm such a big fan of rock, and yet, I really have no knowledge of any Led Zeppelin songs. I've simply never been curious enough to listen to them until now..
I'm sure I've heard at least a few of their songs at SOME point in my life on some rock station, but if I did, I had no knowledge that it was performed by them..
I'd like to hear some of their songs, but I'd only like to hear their best.
So any Led fans, care to give me the names of some of your favorite songs by them? Thx.

Led Zeppelin was one of my favorite bands in high school. I played drums, and John Bonham was my god. I got the 4-CD Boxed set, and that was it. I was addicted. Here are my faves:
Hey Hey What Can I Do: Great rockin'' acoustic track.
Over the Hills & Far Away: Signature mix of acoustic & electric.
Immigrant Song: To hell with "We Will Rock You". If you want someone to know you are going to kick their ass, play this song. Also check out the version from the Live at the BBC sessions.
D''yer M''aker:Very fun song.
When the Levee Breaks: The drum beat that launched a thousand imitators.
Down by The Seaside & Tangerine: 2 quiet little gems.
In My Time of Dying: Better than Stairway to Heaven, IMHO.
In The Evening & All of My Love: Two mellenacholy songs.
Those are my personal faves. If course, you also have the classic rock staples like Whole Lotta ive, Black Dog, The Ocean, Communication Breakdown, Kashmir, etc...

At this very moment I happen to be listening to an extended version of White Summer, but I don't think it would be to everyone's taste.

Just about anything by Zep is great listening, especially when you stack it up against today's blink182/sum41 utter garbage. Even more so when compared to JLo's Dj play my song, play it all night long, you know that turns me on, everything rhymes with 'ong...repeat ad nauseum.
Must listens are : Rock & Roll (featured in a recent car commercial), The Rain Song (awesome), You're time is gonna come, going to california, gallows pole, the list is endless and hence I'll just say ALL Zep must be heard.
The list gets longer when you include what VERsion of the song, for instance the BBC Sessions with Jules holland are great, the live versions with Page & Plant are great, the impromptu weird versions (e.g. over the hills and far away ), just so much depth. And of course the backwards versions.
I hope you've checked out Jimi H. also.

The fact is you cannot do wrong with any zeppelin stuff
I''ll try and summarize the feel of each album
Led Zeppelin I & II - mostly hard blues-rock
Led Zeppelin III - mostly acoustic almost folk kinda stuff but very, very good
Led Zeppelin IV aka Zoso - kinda folky but in a different way...good stuff
Houses of the Holy - a good variety of different styles
Physical Graphiti - I think it''s a little less bluesy and more hard rock ...also just great stuff
In Through the Out Door - it''s okay but I think it''s not really as good as the others all in all
Coda - Has a pretty hard rock sound too... in a way it sounds a bit harder than usual...guitar is a bit more distorted and such...also a great album
A CRPG in development...
Need help? Well, go FAQ yourself.

This was their final album before John Bonham died (Coda was later assembled from pre-recorded tracks). Led Zep had definitely changed in the decade leading up to this album. Some of the tracks seem more like The Who than Zeppelin. Nonetheless, there are some great cuts - In The Evening, Fool in the Rain (with a very difficult drum beat), and All My Love. I''m Gonna Crawl also has some great parts.
Hey Nazrix, you forgot Presence. I would describe it as being more on the bluesy side while not being as hard as Zep I or II, or anything else they released before it for that matter. It''s also probably the least-represented album in terms of radio air-play, which I find a little strange because I always thought the production quality of Presence makes it very radio-friendly.

Production quality is something that Led nailed, mainly thanks to Jimmy Page who was working in recording studios as a session guitarist from a very early age. I''ve even heard he played on Tom Jones'' records at age 13/14. Heavy,

Presence is the only one I don''t have, and I didn''t even know about til like 3 weeks ago and I''ve been into Zeppelin for like 5 yrs.
Although I''d heard Nobody''s Fault But Mine, Candy Store Rock, Achilles Last Stand, Royal Orleans
I''ll have to get that album now
