I just finished my very first game. It''s not perfect but it is complete. And it''s not something I would show to anyone, just cause some of the implementations were band-aid solutions. (YUCK) Just something that I started out to do, and I have done it. IT FEELS AWESOME!!!!
Well if you are curios, it''s a worm-type game, the one on most cell phones. No, it wasn''t hard, and I did it with just the Windows Console and ASCII characters. This freed me from worrying about stuff I don''t really need to know now, and was such a simple thing that I did it over the weekend.
I used dynamic memory, linked lists, classes, and some recursion. You might be wondering what the hell does a little game like this need these some-what moderately advanced techniques but I thought they appropriate. Plus this is the first time I did all of these in C++, I have only worked with Java before.
If you are indeed really really curious, I used linked lists for each part of the tail of the worm, where everytime it eats a character, it would be added to the tail, and I used recursion to go through each part of the tail and update the movements.
Well, thanks for reading. If you need me, I will be busy coding a much better version.
