Programmers needed!!!

Original Post
Hi, I run a game project named Elium Project, here''s the info:
Game: Elium Project
Type: 3D RPG
Engine: The Nebula Device
Language: C++
Pay: none (if we get money off it, everyone will get a % of it).
Short summary: Elium Project is a fantasy-themed 3D RPG with Real-Time fighting system (not a hack and slash, and a mix between skill and exp based, where you can''t view your character''s numbers). Will have some innovative features like create your characters from a set of faces, hairstyles, clothes, etc; character classes with uniquenesses, and a somewhat non-linear story.
We need at least one more programmer, experienced and dedicated enough since the game is still in early stages (we got a build but with no game features yet).
For more info you can visit our website Here. Although it doesnt have much art we do have some of it its just not on the webpage yet because we just opened it.
You can contact me at my msn/email: osanzpont@hotmail.com icq: 44480030 and AIM: RekmarX
If you contact me I can show you the art we have done, and alot more info about the plans for the game.
If someone is interested plz contact me.

hmmm for the ones that may think we''re just another project that has no planning. Although we dont really have much progress We''ve been around for about 6 months, and the reason we dont have much done is because we lack of dedicated members (besides me and maybe a couple other more)
We''ve had a design doc ready for some months now, and now I''m working to redo it better and more clear and accurate.

That don''t strike me as a good selling point at all. That''s why you are not getting anyone from your plz
uhhh, lol
I never said we've done nothing so far. I only stated we dont have a fair progress for the amount of time we've been around (and yes We are a team, check out the webpage, the link is in my first post on this thread). However we do have some code written (a basic app with no "game features" yet) and some models made so dont think we've been lazying around and thinking for 6 months, this not to mention a redesign we had and for which all of our models became useless and that we had to change the pre-made engine we were using for another one -more basic but better-.
btw, we are an internet-based team so we dont "get together to talk about the cool games we could do", we try to make a game but we arent enough people to do that or alot of our members arent really active (the current ones are active, not the non-active ones we've had before).
wondering what I do for it? glad you do!
(besides having already designed it all) I make models. Here's one which I've done, with a work-in-progress texture I also did: http://www.geocities.com/zerox0001000/model.jpg (I didnt make it a link because geocities links dont work)

I wish I could help zerox, I would do it for the love of it ( I been playing Death metal for 12 years playing interstate and everything, got nothing to show for it except memories that money could never buy
)
I dont think I would be experienced enough, you could consider me a junior programmer, understand the concepts on OOP but still, only 12 months worth of in depth exposure to c++/opengl programming, and about 12 months dabbling in c/java/asp/php.

Actually no, Doom is a first person shooter and Mario is a platformer. The goal in those games is A) for the shooter, to kill and find secret areas, get through the level and reach a specific area and B) for the platformer, to get through the level. None of those type of game involves that you take a decision in how your character evolve. Even Diablo... it can hardly be classified as a RPG. It uses common RPG terms and spells, but it''s much more of an action game than a RPG.
Anyway, I don''t want to get into the "This is a RPG and this is not war"
And anyway, that''s a DESIGN question, as long as PROGRAMMING is involved (I think this thread is about getting a programmer), it doesn''t change a thing anyway
"Do it with style or don''t bother doing it."

A redesign that rendered all your assets obsolete within 6 months of project initiation? That points to a bad initial design, which may be an intimation of insufficient design skills, which may hint at the possibility of another "redesign" that renders everything obsolete... not a good advertisement.

Why do you have members who "aren''t really active"? The level of redundancy that your post indicates (and the fact that you''re absolutely unaware of the fact) make the likelihood of your project''s success rather low. Sorry to spill it to you this bluntly, but there are certain prerequisites to successfully managing an internet-based development team and you seem to lack them. And with you as manager, the whole team''s in trouble.
My suggestion to you - at this point in your "career" - is to take your skills and join a team lead by someone with the requisite experience and skills to turn out something successful. Good luck!

How is a game with a real time battle system (if by this you mean arcade action like doom, megaman, anything without random chance dice rolling gameplay) still an rpg??
I never said the real-time fighting system was like doom or megaman, or Diablo.
First off, an RPG doesnt need a turn-based fighting system to exactly be one, and that''s just a technical answer that does answer your question (locutus).
And, let me tell you our fighting system won''t be anything like Diablo or Doom or Megaman.
the redesign was a simple re-scale of the model polycount and detail target, not a real redesign of the game which has evolved and turned to be more defined with time but not really changed. That means we wont have another "redesign".
Anyway right now we dont have non-active members. as this is a non-paying project I can''t force anyone to work, and sometimes members just become lazy and stop working (and yes then they are off the team).
Maybe I''m a good or bad leader, but you don''t know me or know what I do so with all due respect I don''t think you (Oluseyi) can really say if my team is or not in trouble.
berserk: as I already stated I don''t program I make models along other things, which makes it impossible to do it myself.
