I have been trying to get my game to play a small intro movie and have searched the forum for post about how to do it. There''s several post that deal with the matter but none of those I seen had a easy answer on how to do it. After searching some in the DX SDK found something that, while maybe not very powerful, fulfilled exactly what I wanted to do. And it''s very easy to use, all needed to be done to play a file is to include the header and play the movie by calling the function: PlayCutscene("filename", hInstance);. You''ll find it in samples\Multimedia\DirectShow\Players\CutScene Thought I should post it here in case there''s others like me out there who wish a simple way to play a intro for their games and just like me had missed this.

Hey, thats prett neat!
Even if you don''t want to use that code, its still a good starting point for writing your own avi player.
