Can a void funciton pointer be declared, from which any type of function can be called? I''m unable to so.

Function pointer must match the return value, calling convention, [class type for member function pointers] and the parameters of the function you're trying to call through it. Otherwise, you have a very good chance of getting access violations and/or stack corruption.

In C, a function pointer has to have the same signature as the function it points to. There might be some exceptions to that in C++. What are you trying to do?
