A Level Computing Exam

Original Post
Today, 17th June, starting an 8:45 gmt (In England).
I think I am the only one actually sitting the exam, we started the as with 25 people, by the end of the year there was 7. Only 3 of us passed and went onto A2 (2 others went in the same class to re-take as there was no As course running this year - no interest) and of those three one dropped out after half a year, and the other hasn''t been seen for about 4 months.
To compound the problem, half the lessons have been cancelled, leaving me with a background feeling that I havn''t been taught anything - thank god for prior knowledge.
Wish me luck, everyone. And good luck just in cse anyone else is sitting it.....
I''m not familiar with the "levels". What does A2 indicate?
25 down to 3...Either your exams are really hard or there was a big party the day before (Party = That''s usually the conclusion they draw here..when *everybody* fails).
Where i''m at the *try* to not plan exams if they know that there''s some big "student" event coming up.
At the university i''m at we got between 2-3 chances in one semester to ace (hopefully) an exam. You can basiclly take it as many times as you like(free), but you''ll get behind "schedule".

That's odd everyone in my year who took computing AS got at least a C and over half got A's.

Yah - What is the Internet anyway?????

I got stuck on the Assembly bit - I got the right method, it''s just I couldn''t remember what the first command to do was - I should really spend some time properly learning assembly.
Some of the stuff we hadn''t covered in class, like reading+interpreting HTML. Wow, that was a really complicated web page.........(sarcasm)

You did Module 4 as well? I did that in january got an A wooo! :D
I wanted to do Computing A level, but my college decided instead to make everyone do ICT, because apparently there is a big overlap between the syllabuses (or should that be syllabi?).
Anyone else notice that the dataflow diagram one the first page for the AQA paper for module 5 was wrong?

I mock you.
Example of an ICT lesson:
"This is a computer. We don''t know how it works, all we need to know is that it is a kind of magic box. In this subject we will teach you a bit about harnessing this magic, through techniques such as ''creating folders'' and by using ''aplications'' such as Microsoft Word. Wizards with advanced powers can increase the power of a computer by adding magical talismans called ''upgrades'' and can make the computer do wonderful things through the use of advanced magic called ''programming''. This is beyond the scope of this course. Now, everyone turn on the computer by pressing the big magic button in the middle. No, that''s the ''reset'' button. Yes that''s it, well done..."
No really, what kind of a shitty college do you go to?
There are 10 types of people in this world - those who understand binary and those who don''t.
What is annoying is when you go in for a lesson and all the AVCE IT students have dismantled the PCs but neglected to put them back together.
