Im trying to display an activex control at run time in my dialog based mfc app. Ive managed to half make sense of microsoft''s TstCon (activeX viewer) source code so I pretty much know how to do it. Ive hit a big hurdle though, in the tstcon sample they use a MDI with doc\view architecture and therefore use COleClientItem. The problem here is that to use COleClientItem you need to construct it passing in a COleDocument so that you can use the doc\view architecture in your ole/com/activex app. I of course dont have the document to pass in because, using a dialog based app, im not using the doc\view functionality. So what do I use instead? Or do I need to create a "fake" COleDocument that I dont actually use except to create the COleClientItem that I will use. I cant see that being the answer as it must need to be a valid CDocument. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your time In case this helps Ill tell you what im doing so far: I create a CDispatchDriver and get all the info from the control (methods/parameters/variables) and all that is working fine (i.e. it collects the correct data) but I need some way of actually displaying the control which is why I wanted to use COleClientItem::DoVerb().
