Superhero Workplace Comedy, Dispatch Launches on XBOX Today
Dispatch is now available on Xbox Series X|S, giving AdHoc Studio’s narrative-heavy superhero comedy a fresh platform release alongside Xbox Play Anywhere support. The game is priced at $29.99, with a Digital Deluxe Edition at $39.99, and it’s also playable via Xbox Cloud Gaming for Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate subscribers who own the game.
The pitch is unusually game-dev-friendly: you’re not playing the caped hero in the field, but the dispatcher behind the desk. Robert Robertson, AKA Mecha Man, is forced into a rehab-and-management role after his mech suit is destroyed, and the core loop combines branching dialogue, office politics, and tactical assignment of ex-supervillains to emergencies. Choices affect relationships, allegiances, and the shape of the story, while the strategy map asks players to weigh risk, reward, and team composition.
For developers, the interesting part is the hybrid structure. Dispatch leans on narrative consequences, but it also needs readable systems design so the player can make meaningful deployment decisions without the strategy layer collapsing into busywork.
