BlizzCon 2026 Preview: We’re So Back! | Official XBOX Podcast
BlizzCon 2026 is set for September 12-13 at the Anaheim Convention Center, with Blizzard bringing the full in-person event back alongside a live online broadcast. For developers, the big takeaway is that Blizzard is once again using the show as a platform for major game reveals, hands-on demos, and community-facing programming rather than treating it as a purely digital announcement cycle.
The main stage is moving back to Hall D, the largest hall in the convention center, and Blizzard says it will hold more than 7,500 seats. That matters for the shape of the event: bigger live audiences, more pressure on stage production, and a stronger emphasis on synchronized reveals that land both in the room and on stream. The company is also expanding programming across six stages over two days.
Community spaces are getting a major push as well. Darkmoon Faire returns in a larger 70,000-square-foot footprint on level two of the North Hall, with pin trading, collectibles, plushies, pet adoption, the Trading Post, and a new duck pond fishing activity. The Hearthstone Tavern is also back, with the Artist Nook, Doula Dev, and a 360 Mocktail Bar among the planned attractions.
Blizzard is framing 2026 as a milestone year, with anniversaries tied to Blizzard, Diablo, Overwatch, and Battle.net. The event’s tone suggests a mix of nostalgia and forward-looking announcements, which usually means a lot of attention on how Blizzard balances legacy franchises, live service updates, and fan expectations across both the show floor and the broadcast.
