Open Tibia MMO game maker

https://open-tibia.net/

Open Tibia is an open source version of the technical 2D action adventure MMORPG Tibia from 1997, one of the first graphical MMO's in existence that's still very much alive today with around 15000 live players at any time.

The game burrows concepts from dungeon crawlers, D&D and Tolkien mythology, as well as having action, RPG and satirical elements like a much more developed multiplayer-based Dirk Smallwood game.

Core features of Open Tibia includes:

* General user interface (health and mana bar, player conditions, exp, level, skills, soul points, player equipment, container slots, minimap with zoom in/out features and full screen mode, battle list, quest logs, friend lists, channel tabs and lists, ignore lists, client options, WASD option, terminal window for GMs to call client sided functions directly, lua code, debugging, and much more)

* Open Tibia comes with a default of 36 spell/message/item hotkeys and can be easily extended in Lua

* Public, private, guild and GM chat channels, private (direct) messages, and local messages

* Maps are stored fully server sided. Client generates the minimap based on data sent directly from the server. Maps are relatively dynamic and can be altered by players, NPCs, GMs and server developers

* A very rich game mechanics and PvP system that cannot be summarized in text

* No skill or level limits, though levels and skills gets drastically slower over time

* Tons of open source Open Tibia tools in the form of source code as well as Windows executeables can be easily found and downloaded such as map editors, item editors, npc editors, game servers (modded or unmodded), game clients, etc. Game servers are as easy to run as download, unzip and double clicking the server.exe with a config.lua file for configuration, so running the game is suitable both for experienced and inexperienced users/developers
