About This Position
You will be working on a psychological-horror narrative game set in a supernatural carnival presented as a live broadcast. I have existing lore, characters, and a playable foundation. Iām looking for someone who can work within that material and make the mystery unfold through what players notice, choose, and do. The immediate focus is stronger scenes and investigation in the vertical slice.
What you would work on:
-Review our current playable concept sequence and identify repeated exposition, unclear motivations, or moments where the player needs something to do.
-Write and revise concise dialogue with distinct voices for all current characters as needed.
-Develop short object interactions and clue sequences that let players investigate the carnival and question its rules.
-Outline choices and consequences, including what the player knows, what triggers a scene, and how it connects to existing lore.
-Work with me and the programmer to prepare implementable dialogue in our Arc weave workflow, then review it in the build.
Requirements
-Clear character writing and an ability to keep dialogue focused. You can show a short example of voice, tension, or scene pacing.
-Interest in interactive storytelling and willingness to explain how a player participates in a scene.
-Ability to follow established lore, track continuity, and revise after feedback.
-Comfort discussing scope and communicating early when a task or deadline needs to change.
-Branching dialogue tools such as Arcweave, Twine, Ink, or a similar workflow.
-Mystery, psychological horror, environmental storytelling, or puzzle writing.
-Game jams, student projects, or collaboration with artists and programmers.
-Arcweave can be learned during onboarding. Fiction, scripts, fan work, and unfinished scenes can all be useful samples when you explain your contribution.
