Godot Programmer

Little Rock Studio

GD Script/C# Programmer Volunteer 🌍 Remote Flexible

About This Position

You will be working on a psychological horror game set in a supernatural carnival with deadly rules and loopholes. The concept is playable, and I’m looking for help improving what we have and building the next features. Priorities include reliable interactions, narrative triggers, clearer game states, and fixes identified through feedback. We would choose one area at a time within the existing Godot 4 project.

What you would work on:

-Implement different world interactions, dialogue triggers, and gameplay changes that support investigation and the next slice.
-Debug scene transitions, input, UI, audio, and state changes where they affect the player experience.
-Polish and extend existing systems for future minigames or narrative outcomes.
-Use the project’s Git workflow, keeping changes focused and documenting setup or behavior that others need to know.
-Check changes in the relevant playable sequence, record remaining issues, and coordinate with the writer and artist on integration.

Requirements

-Programming fundamentals and willing to learn Godot 4 to become familiar enough to navigate scenes, nodes, signals, and scripts. A small personal project is sufficient evidence.
-Ability to read and modify GDScript, investigate a bug, and explain how fixed it.
-Basic version-control practice, or willingness to learn the project’s Git workflow before contributing changes.
-Comfort working in an existing project, asking questions, and flagging blockers or scope changes early.
-Dialogue integration, branching narrative, state machines, or reusable interaction systems.
-Godot UI, 2D animation, audio, or sprite integration.
-C# familiarity for parts of the existing integration, plus willingness to follow the current codebase.
