Yes so I basically re-wrote the entire graphics engine in a single weekend...'bout to finish the people, weapons, and streetside objects.

Did a lot of work, and have a lot of cool stuff coming up..too busy to type it all up :-)

HDR, Tonemapping, new shadowing algorithm, car shader, etc. shown in these screens.

It looks amazing in motion.

I've just fixed the shadow aliasing issues visible in these screens as well...it looks much better >:-)...another update soon.

One suggestion: The cars and people are looking really nice, but I think the buildings need to be dirtier. They get wind and rain assaulting them, they get pidgeons crapping on them, they get trucks blowing soot at them... a little "texture splatting" of mess textures onto some of the buildings would make them look a lot more realistic, I think.

(Also, it looks like the brickwork on the far building in the second picture is moireing a bit - is that just an artifact of you shrinking the image down?)

Yes, the artifacts in the second picture are just because it's such a high res texture I'm doing a tex2dbias inside the shader to keep things sharp. When running at resolutions above 1024x768 it's not an issue. I took these screens @ that low resolution.

I have a detail/dirt map applied to all buildings, but I know what you mean.

I'm doing a second batch of city artwork, the second set will include more of a grungy look to it...combined w/ these buildings it should allow any type of setting to be simulated. Also included in the second artwork pass is a 3-lane 1 way roads, and elevated trains.

Thanks for comment.
