New Environment / Building WIP

I've been working on this one for a few hours...it's the first of many new buildings I'm creating for the game...

I'm really tired and don't care to get into the specifics of all the stuff I've been up to...but I'll try to post more frequent updates...I've been slacking off with the progress updates.

This building is a gun store / shooting range, cleverly called "Dan's Shooting Range"...

This building is about 70% done, should be done tommorow and the next building should be nearly completed as well...I'm thinking a car wash...and I've also got to create some new alley ways and write an interior shader for these types of interiors, which has a very specific set of requirements.

Like I said before I'm working on like 10-15 different things right now...more updates soon xD

EDIT

*Update*

It's about 90% done now...

I really envy your ability to stay focused on this project for soo long :)
Yes, you've a publisher now so you're sort of "forced", but I still think that one of the most important skill of an indy developer is the ability to keep on working even when the project is 90% completed.
I have never reached such a skill and that's why you've a publisher and I don't :P
You're doing a great job

Hey thanks a lot!

I just edited the post w/new screenshots...I'm hoping to do a little marathon of creating 1 building a day...it's a lot of fun.

Any ideas for buildings not seen in previous screenshots/vids would be appreciated! I think I've got a car wash, some alleys and maybe a hotel interior lined up...

But like they say it's 90% perspiration, and errr 10% fckin luck...something like that xD

and lots of different respectable "fronts" for your gangs bosses to have their meetings and sit-downs and for captains and low level made men to run their operations.

- ethnic restaurants of all kinds (moped delivery of your drugs!).
- cleaners
- laundromats
- gyms \ boxing \ martial arts clubs
- waste disposal offices
- construction contractors offices
- night clubs
- pizza parlors (extra anchovies *wink wink*)
- "massage" parlors
- locksmith
- tow truck service
- cab company ("Hello? Yeah I need a cab to take me to cloud nine")
- $20/hr motel rooms
- limo service company
- concrete / asphalt company

misc
- cybercafes
- arcades
- 24 hour pancake house (yeah, not much money in that business)
- methadone/rehab clinic
- welfare office
- homeless shelter
- that special park in every big city where all the bums sleep
- bridge and freeway underpasses
- subway tunnels

You could really make city life look like hell on earth!

I know your game design is probably fixed in stone, but wouldn't it be neat if part of your gang's goals was to take over the businesses on their turf?

Nice list! It'll will be very handy in the coming days! Yea I've already got a few of those...underpasses and 4 of those buildings will be posted end of today / tommorow.

As for the territory, it's handled in standard mafiaso fashion. They just take the business for protection money & a cut of the business' profits. I am taking into account the level of violence, and other environment factors when computing the business income.

Thanks again for the big list!
