Okay, enough now. I'm quite ashamed of the way I've reacted to the new site and would like to publicly apologise to the people who have put all the work into making it happen.

I'm looking forward to reading Drew's up-coming mega journal tomorrow but I am quite sure that the issues that have been raised with the site will be addressed.

I do personally miss the old rating system. Like Mike P and many others, I do worry that the lack of visibility of the new system is going to lead to a degradation of the quality of posts - we all pretend we don't care about the silly little number but we all actually do and it has been a big reason people think before they post here - but I guess the community will find other ways to deal with that when it happens.

As I've said before, I think these strong reactions are a reflection of how important a part of our development lives GDNet is. As a six year member, I can't actually imagine making games without GDNet. But that should mean sticking with the changes and supporting the new site, not griping and moaning.
