This is the coda of a series named Gaming Education at College that focuses on the teaching of gaming above the high school level. At this part, I’ll answer some common questions/complaints about the college method of teaching gaming.

5. I have a degree in gaming but I still feel that I don’t know as much as I would like about gaming. How can that be?

Welcome to our world. Seriously, come on in. Many people in the industry feel this way, too. This industry is so large, with so many positions, I’m not sure that anyone truly has a grasp on this beast. That’s not a bad thing. It keeps many of us from being bored. There is always a new avenue to go down, a new pocket to explore.

When I was a young student, I always wanted to know everything. I thought that school would put me there. The truth is that school can’t teach you everything. It can give you the basis of knowledge and then the ability to learn more. It will give you the ability to take on new information and learn it without the help of the back of the text book. The rest is up to your life adventure.
