Continuing with the “features in my game” theme from last post, this month I implemented party movement. While on the overworld the entire party will form a line following the leader’s movements, and here’s what I ended up making:

As you can see, the party doesn’t just start/stop exactly with the leader. Instead, there’s a quick ramp up where the followers have a delay before they start moving, as well as a delay to stopping that causes the line to collapse a little. It’s a subtle effect I landed on after showing off what I was working on and getting feedback from others.

I was really really shooting for having my game’s Steam page up now, but I picked up some freelance clients and had to focus time on them. I still progressed my project, implementing stuff like party movement, but I didn’t have enough time this month to cut a trailer. I am shooting for that very soon, hoo boy.
