I am quite pleased with myself with what I have acomplished so far programming in OpenGL. I have even come up with a crude but working model format. But now I am wondering if there are some existing model formats out there that might already have converters and modelers available, to save myself some time coding editors and converters myself. When I say modelformat, I''m not just talking about how the model is stored on disk. I''m also talking about the model object in the game engine. Eventually I want my models to be animated and and so on. Right now they are just static objects that can move around, but no animation. Any ideas and input welcome.
