HI you!!! Had some thoughts about Nerd! does you guys have some stereotype for female nerd? can a female computer interested person be called a nerd? if you imagine a female sitting in front of hte computer how does she look like??? females use tho have the stereotype for male computer interested persons so called nerds; Fat lousy , With some bunches of coke around their keey-board......2-3 computers in their room and with a mess! Dont really know if thats true... But do you have something similar thoughts about women? Woundering.......(not only programmers but everything that have to do with computers.........) /jewelaye

Why should female nerds be any diffrent from male nerds? That''d be, not fat and very good looking, right?

I''m VERY MUCH against calling a female computer-geek for "a nerd"... i call them "female-hackers"... and theres a reason for it: A girl that knows something about computers are more then just a girl... the word "nerd" sounds so negative... but the word "hacker" sounds really cool... and thats exACTLY what female computer-geeks are...

(YES... i know what a real hacker is.. but anyway..

Here in sweden the female-hackers are like "-gOD DAMN WHAT A BABE"
seriously... (the ones i''ve met anyway so they are really worthly to be called hackers

So the rest of all dudes in here... take my advice and look up for and encourage (and so on our female friends!!!

(my byline from the Gamedev Collection series, which I co-edited) John Hattan has been working steadily in the casual game-space since the TRS-80 days and professionally since 1990. After seeing his small-format games turned down for what turned out to be Tandy's last PC release, he took them independent, eventually releasing them as several discount game-packs through a couple of publishers. The packs are actually

My wife is pretty nerdy. We used to go out to clubs a lot but now we just stay home, program, and play games. It''s funny how your priorities switch as you get older. I used to always say I wasn''t a nerd and now im happy I am. I had my first interview for a game programming job today and I can''t believe how much time I used to waste doing things that got me nowhere.

I must say that any woman that is interested in computers has been quite a babe. Besides a nice bod, being interested in computers makes ''em twice as hot.

Just my two cents.

HI you! 1; youre totaly wrong about that with
Stereotype for female computer geeks?
*lol* thin as a stick...=)
I think...you seems tho think that thin womens are ugly..(?)

"Nah, give me a woman with a real life..."

A computer interested woman dohave a real life!
I just want to say that the people that usualy chat/
living in the chat rooms are around 14 and use to have sex chat...so far as i know does NOT the female REAL computer inteerseted people use to live at the chat rooms except in the eone with genneral programming and allthing that is NON PERSONAL and only have to do with computers!!!

"I see two types in my mind:
1. Fat, big-ass glasses, butt ugly, has no social life outside the chat boards.
2. Thin-as-a-stick, still butt ugly, and still no social life outside the chat boards, except for the geek boyfriend she met through the internet...

Nah, give me a woman with a real life... "

I''m married to a female "hacker" as well...

she calls herself a webgrrl after the group she founded, slightly better than nerd.

And yes, she knows more about cold fusion, asp, cgi and html then I ever care to know.

Good luck Miss Diamond Eye! I would encourage as many women as possible to get into programming, if only to increase my chances of meeting a woman that I can actually identify with
I know that they''re out there but I seem to be having a little trouble finding one.
