In experimenting with the Programming Role Playing Games with DirectX corecode, I don''t seem to be able to get get the cObject billboarding working? It may be working perfectly fine; it is possible that I don''t understand how the output should look? Currently, I created an object based on cMesh and cObject classes that can be moved up and down with using the keyboard. What seems to be happening is that the object is being transformed across the access as I raise and lower my object? My understanding of a billboard, based on the sample in chapter 6 that does not use the gamecore, would seem to indicate that the cObject Angle with the camera should remain parallel? Maybe this is actually the case and I just don''t understand what I should be seeing. Although there doesn''t seem to be a visual difference between turning the billboard on or off? Currently I am using a stationary camera. The following is a subset of code:

m_LevelObject.EnableBillboard(TRUE);
m_LevelObject.Update();
m_LevelObject.Render();

Thanks

Thanks Again Jim,

Your fix works. I was was pretty sure that I didn''t need the update, but I figured that I would add it just in case.

Thanks Again Jim,

This fix works great, although I noticed that it has a side effect on the targeting billboard used in the Battle code of chapter 18. Just an FYI..

Thanks
