Does anyone know whether M$ plans on releasing DX 9 under its .NET framework or are they going to keep it as a COM library?

I think that is really NDA covered... ..but had you talked to your old friend google, he might have told you something like this:

"DirectX 9 will include ''Managed DirectX''. This appears to be a C++ .NET wrapper around the DirectX classes. This should sound somewhat familiar... Microsoft will produce a more complete implementation than I have the time to produce, so I will wait for DirectX 9 before the next version of this tutorial."

This is public information, not covered by NDA: DX9 will contain both the traditional COM interface as well as a managed(.NET) interface.

I''m going to go nuts if they don''t come out with DX9 soon. I''ve been waiting since I heard about beta 1. I''m not a beta tester

That''s not necessarilly true. A moderator could potentially have direct access to the posting database, allowing them to edit whatever they like without any trace.

However, I suspect that in this case it was more of a fumbled posting by AP, than a conspiracy on behalf of the moderators... this being a DX (i.e. MS) BB anyway.

Nope, Moderators don''t have access to the database (or any other part of the sites admin or backside). The only people that can get at that are the staff (the owners that is, mini-staff like Gaiiden only have special access to a few asp scripts to do their thing). Though yes, I do see a few post removed from this thread, as I remember correctly they where flaming the original poster and taking this off topic into a kiddie flamewar about using $ in MS. That kind of discussion doesn''t belong in this forum, and it definitely has no business hijacking a thread on a real topic. If the Anonymous Coward has a problem with this and thinks that flamers are somehow righteous warriors being put down by the big bag moderators he can go elsewhere, perhaps back to suckling on his mother''s teet.
