Do you think anyone would be interested in an article detailing the basic types of intellectual property? Maybe with some examples of what could constitute ip in the development of a game?

Thanks for the response Kylotan! The idea would be to help equip game designers with the knowledge necessary to get the most out of their legal services.

I''ll draft something up and submit it to GameDev.net

I might be, but it would have to have good sources and well documented facts...

you should also include information about the GPL and the LGPL (or at least links to the documentation on it), since so many people have questions and misconceptions about these when they are considering using a library or engine under these licenses...

Okay, duly noted. I''ll weave those two suggestions in by showing how the IP issues are dealt with in the GPL licenses. If you guys have particular licenses you would like me to reference you''re welcome to email them to me, or post them. Then in the article I''ll reference them in the text in order to explain how the license has dealt with the IP rights. Otherwise I''ll dig a couple up.
