I heard about it twice. Not sure if it''s a joke, but probably is. Can anyone confirm that it exists?

It looks like the group''s pretty new (very few posts just now). Anyway, if you want to use a newsreader instead of that web based thing then add the newsgroup server "msnews.microsoft.com" in your favoured news reader (e.g. Outlook Express, under tools->accounts->add news).

Yeah, it''s a new group of course. The DirectX Beta managed newsgroup got a good bit of traffic. Not a ton, but steady. I''d expect the managed newsgroup to pick up and have a respectable amount of posting before too long.

But truth be told, none of those newsgroups really get as much traffic as they should, and it''s more common to see a question go unanswered than to see one answered in my experience. I''d stick with this board for technical questions.

Actually, I think they ignore the same types of questions we ignore around here -- they just get more of them.

Ask a pointed, well detailed question and they are happy to dig into the nitty-gritty with you. They aren''t about to give away copy rights, patents, and plans though ("How do you hack system admin password?", "When will Windows 2010 ship?", "How come DirectX won''t work on my VGA card?"). Duh.
