Computer Graphics Competition

Hi. Im part of a group at my university ( ETS, École de Technologies Supérieur ) who wants to create a computer graphics student club for students in Software Engineering. Right now we are looking for competitions we could possibly join in the future because the administration of the university wants us of course to enter competitions if we are to receive funding. Altough we are located in Quebec, Canada and speak french, we would be ready to travel anywhere in Canada or in the United States. Altough other members of the club have found some competitions, I was looking more for some kind of demo party for universities, if that exists . Does anyone knows of such competitions ( not necessarly demo party like ) ? Or does anyone knows if such club exists at their local university ? If so could you please post the names of these or their links, thank you in advance. WHO DO THEY THINK THEY''RE FOOLING : YOU ?
