Can anyone recommend a OpenGl based open sourced engine like Jet3D or Genesis? Doesnt matter if its indoor or terrain based. Thanks in advance....

The Quake engine and the Quake2 engine. Get them from ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com

www.quakesrc.org for engine modifications to both those engines.

Crystal space (http://crystal.sourceforge.net/) is an open source 3d engine that supports OpenGL, though it is not exclusively Open GL. It can be something of pain to use, but it''s fairly powerful.

Ogre: http://ogre.sourceforge.net?

Now thats an engine worth checking out since Crystal is a little old for my taste and still loads Quake1 maps

Yeah I think Crystal is way behind the time. It seems...... monolothic.......... compared to Ogre.

Actually Crystal Space is a pretty good engine. Not sure where you get the impression that it is old or behind the times.

Check out some of these screen shots from a projects using Crystal Space.

Question.. why not? You werent concerned over the type of engine, so whats wrong with it? Its fast, been modded to look on par (and even beyond) todays games, has stable network code, supports mods, is fully open sourced and has a great community, etc.

For some examples of its updated-ness:
